What do you do when you’re in a foreign city taking pictures and your camera breaks? You go directly to Chandan’s shop on Luxa Rd for a check up! Chandan is self-taught in all types of camera repair including digital SLRs. Though he’s been in the business since 1992, he graduated from Benaras University with a B.A. in Psychology. He is so good at what he does that so far, nobody else has been able to come close to his ability in repairing cameras.

I was down in Lanka once asking a Camera shop owner where to go to get my camera fixed. Without hesitating he said, “Go to Chandan on Luxa road across from the Luxa Police station.” So I went to Luxa road, but finding Chandan was another story. He’s in a very small shopping complex named “Ramdai Katra” which is about 200 feet towards Godolia on the opposite side of the street. Just ask any one of the shopkeepers there where Chandan works and they will direct you to the right place. Within minutes, hours or even day, depending on the level of repair, Chandan can have your camera working like new!
